FROM SUSTAINABLE DESTINATION TO SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY

The most beautiful stories about tourism often do not begin in the most famous locations, but a few kilometers away-in small towns, fields, and vineyards where the flavors, products, and traditions that give a destination its soul are created.

This is where the authenticity that visitors seek truly lives. It depends on people and communities, but also on those who choose to stay, work, and build a life beyond the summer season. Tourism then stops being just about arrivals and departures and becomes a space of connection between the community and the world.

From coast to inland, rural areas are increasingly being recognized as the quiet strength of a destination. What does tourism look like when it does not simply pass through places, but strengthens them? Can authenticity become a driver of development and a reason to stay, rather than just a tourist attraction?

This panel brings stories from a space where a destination evolves into a community-where sustainability is not just a strategy, but a way of life that connects people, nature, and the future of places we are only beginning to discover.
